Landscape Gardening and Exterior Design
We hear so much about interior design these days with loads of magazine and TV coverage. Well, how about some exterior design with a bit of landscape gardening? For those of us lucky enough to have a little space to call a garden in this built up world, there is plenty we can do make things a little more pleasing on the eye.
Very often we are so consumed with interior that we often overlook or even neglect that bit of ground that is ours outside the home. Essentially, however, this bit of garden is where people will make their first impressions of us. If your home every goes on the market, the garden often becomes the first make or break issue when a potential buyer comes calling.
Weather permitting, the garden is also somewhere we can spend lots of time in the summer months, so it makes sense to treat this exterior with as much care and attention as we often do with the inside of our homes.
We all want to be able to enjoy the breeze of a summer day and perhaps watch the kids play safely on the lawn or prepare a barbeque for friends and relatives at the weekend. If the garden has been maintained, this all becomes so much easier.
Landscaping your garden may at first appear a daunting prospect but actually it can be great fun! It’s a chance to exercise those creative brain muscles before you put the body muscles into action. If we are actually struggling for ideas to get us started, there are plenty of magazines to give us some basic pointers, even if most of them will be a little too grand for our own patch of grass!
Some people go border crazy, with lots of shrubs and paved walkways while others prefer lots of top quality lawn, potted plants and gravel.
There are no hard and fast rules, other than those needed to maintain your creation, so why not mix it all together if you like and simply enjoy creating your own interpretation of Eden!
If the climate permits, why not feature lots of sub-tropical plants and solar lights along with a seating area and on a hot summer night imagine that you are somewhere nearer the Mediterranean than you actually are!
If at all sounds like a bit too much, then there is always the option of employing a landscape gardening contractor to help you with the realisation of your vision.
